The island in the Canary Islands is 100 km long and 30 km wide.
Fuerteventura is a sporty island, especially for tennis players. The Aldiana resort built in 1983 on Jandia’s 20-kilometre beach in the south contributes to this. Covering 230,000 m², the resort accommodates 600 guests in 360 units (hotels and bungalows). The rooms are furnished to the latest standards and all have a terrace or balcony.
The wellness centre includes a sauna, massage and beauty facilities, and a gym.
On a wonderfully situated hillside overlooking the golden sandy beach, small whitewashed cottages with red roofs nestle into the slope and end at the rocky plateau above, where the hotel buildings, restaurant, theatre and disco are located. In the middle is the large pool arena with spacious sunbathing areas.
Among Aldiana holidaymakers, Fuerteventura is considered a tennis stronghold, with many regular guests returning year after year to pick up their rackets.

Gran Canaria The island of contrasts covers 1560 square kilometres and is the third-largest of the Canary Islands. Its special feature is its many beaches, most of them made of light sand. The mild climate and pleasant water temperature, from 18 degrees in winter to 22 degrees during the rest of the year, allow the beaches and tennis courts to be used all year round.
Tennis players in particular make use of the mild climate in winter and spring. You can swing a racket at eleven clubs with 55 courts. The many hotel complexes offer roughly as many more tennis courts.
The island of Gran Canaria offers further sporting highlights, including golf at at least five courses. Sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, skydiving, freestyle climbing, cycling and hiking are also very popular.

Makadi Bay lies 30 km south of Hurghada; a fine, gently sloping sandy beach and crystal-clear water await you at the Aldiana-Makadi Bay with 200,000 m² and 530 rooms in terraced bungalows and villas.
Everything is first-class: the main building has a reception, golf and tennis desk, guest service, tour desk, day bar and the Vista Mare speciality restaurant with 160 seats. There is also an internet cafe, four conference rooms, a ballroom for 400 people, a fitness studio and a wellness centre with four saunas, steam bath, whirlpool, relaxation rooms, showers, hammam, beauty department, hairdresser, juice bar and a landscaped outdoor pool surrounded by a crenellated wall and several towers.
Below a large terrace are the shopping arcade and the main restaurant with 1100 indoor and outdoor seats, where buffets are served three times a day. The Arabian Desert begins directly behind the hotel complex.
