Im Team von Barbara Rittner stehen Sabine Lisicki and Julia Görges als Einzelspielerinen ( Angelique Kerber ), and in doubles Anna-Lena Grönefeld, all of whom are highly motivated and will take their chances.
The team captain firmly believes in the chance of reaching the semi-finals for the first time since 1995: “So far, I only know that we are an elevator team. Since I took this job, we have gone up and down. But I also know that the quality has never been this high.” This applies to all three singles players and Anna-Lena Grönefeld im Doppel.
We will see what comes of it, perhaps getting an indication as early as today.
