The American Jack Sock won the first Masters tournament of his career in Paris. He defeated Serbian qualifier Filip Krajinovic 5:7 6:4 6:1 and is therefore the last player to qualify for the ATP Finals in London, which begin on 12 November. Sock, currently ranked 9th in the world, benefits from the withdrawal through injury of Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka.
If Rafael Nadal has to withdraw from the final because of his knee injury, Spain's Pablo Carreno-Busta, ranked tenth in the world, would take his place.
