Former leading tennis player Jana Novotna has died at the age of 49. The teilte der Tennisverband WTA mit. According to the report, the Czech player died of cancer, passing away peacefully at home with her family present.
In her 14-year professional career, Novotna won 24 singles and 76 doubles titles. She was number two in singles and number one in doubles. In 1998 she won the Wimbledon title against France’s Nathalie Tauziat.
