UCI KINOWELT broadcasts the men's semi-finals and the women's and men's finals live from Wimbledon
TENNIS GRAND SLAM: WIMBLEDON LIVE AND IN 3D AT THE CINEMA
During the first three days of July, UCI KINOWELT presents tennis in a new dimension. The oldest and most famous tennis tournament in the world takes over the cinema screen, promising the most exciting duels on the “sacred grass”. Captured in spectacular 3D, Wimbledon becomes a sporting experience unlike anything seen before.
After the Australian and French Opens, the Wimbledon Championships are the season’s third Grand Slam and a special highlight for athletes and fans. The world’s oldest tennis tournament, 134 years old, values tradition. Wimbledon still uses real English grass, and the requirement that 90 percent of playing clothes be white creates a fashion challenge for some tennis eccentrics.
Last year's champion, who recently took a break due to injury Serena Williams is fighting to regain her lost world ranking points and get closer to the world number one Caroline Wozniacki get closer. Perhaps she will once again face her sister in the final Venus gegenüber? Aber auch die deutschen Damen Andrea Petkovic, Julia Görges and Sabine Lisicki können sich Hoffnungen machen: Lisicki has just won the grass-court tournament in Birmingham. Petkovic at number 11 in the world, is currently Germany's leading female tennis player and therefore another contender for the final.
In the men's event, the three highest-ranked players Roger Federer (3), Novak Djokovic (2) and Rafael Nadal (1) try everything to outdo one another. While Djokovic moves ever closer to the leader, will Nadal and Federer give everything to face each other in another Grand Slam final. Florian Mayer (18) is the highest-seeded German player; perhaps he will follow in the footsteps of the three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker...?
UCI KINOWELT broadcasts this outstanding 3D tennis event live on the big screen at selected locations in Germany and Austria. Tickets cost €15 per event (plus surcharges); members of the UCI KINOWELT “movie points” bonus programme pay the reduced price of just €14 (plus surcharges).
