Deutsches Fed-Cup-team defeats Switzerland
In a tennis thriller, Germany's Fed Cup women earned the opportunity to return to the world elite.
Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Tatjana Malek with a 6:4, 6:3 win in the decisive final doubles match over Patty Schnyder + Stefanie Vögele scored the point for a 3:2 victory.
Captain Barbara Rittner’s team will therefore play on 25 and 26 April in the play-offs for promotion back to World Group I of the eight best teams.
