Deutsche Tennis players Haas, Kohlschreiber, Kerber, Lisicki, Petkovic and others: will they be overtaken?
Quite a few of them have often been eliminated in the first round of important tournaments such as Grand Slams. That should not happen to Grand Slam players. Everyone has a bad day, of course, but unfortunately these bad days have become a habit.
That really raises the question: why? There can be many reasons, with different things going wrong for different people.
Perhaps our training methods are outdated, or is the fitness training wrong? Or should we focus more on strengths than on weaknesses?
What would be more beneficial? Physical fitness or mental strength?
2 Beispiele zur Anregung:
Eine Serena Williams had a coaching session several years ago with the greatest mental coach of all time, "Anthony Robbins". We have seen the effect in many Grand Slam victories.
However, a mental training session like this comes at a price: around 10 - 15.000.- $.
Some people will now ask whether it is worthwhile. The answer is the many Grand Slam titles Williams has won. Certainly, other things also contributed to her success.
I think Anthony Robbins from the USA would even fly to Germany for $50,000 to give our tennis professionals a lesson in mental training. The German Tennis Federation should consider whether that might be at least one step forward, instead of the many setbacks in German tennis in recent years.
Incidentally, Robbins already wrote the classic about 28 years ago Grenzenlose Energie - The Power Principle, explaining how it works in almost 500 pages.
Beispiel 2: Novak Djokovic
Djokovic For years he has taken one of the best supplements from a German manufacturer. It is (a) completely free of doping substances and (b) effective within 2–3 minutes and lasting about 4 hours. It also greatly improves concentration.
In matches lasting a long time, 3-4 hours, a supplement like this can make the difference. Anyone interested can send me a brief email. See Contact.
Among our German women, there are several promising and ambitious talents who, with just the two examples mentioned, could certainly take a small but important step forward. Whether they'll do so, or whether anyone will recommend it to them first, is another question.
Bei den Herren ist zurzeit eigentlich nur Tommy Haas able to keep up at the very top.
These are surely just two small indications that everything can still improve, including German tennis with all its excellent players.
Let us hope there is more progress in German tennis by the next Grand Slam tournament.
