Kuznetsova gewinnt French Open
Swetlana Kuznetsova won against Dinara Safina, the world number one, 6:4, 6:2 and secured at the French Open her second Grand Slam title in women's singles after the US Open 2004.
From the hands of the six-time French Open champion Steffi Graf erhielt Swetlana Kuznetsova wenig später den silbernen Coupe Suzanne Lenglen. "Vielen Dank, Steffi, you are a great athlete and one of my idols", she said to cheers from the almost 15.000 spectators in the stands.
