During her career, Steffi Graf won 23 titles at the world’s most important tournaments, the Grand Slams: four Australian Opens, five US Opens, six French Opens and seven Wimbledons. Only Australia’s Margaret Smith Court, with 24 titles, surpassed her here.
She won 107 tournaments in total, placing her third on the all-time list for singles tournament victories, behind Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert.
Graf also won at the Olympic Games in Seoul and won the tennis event five times Masters and, with the German team, the Federation Cup twice, in 1987 and 1992, as well as the Grand-Slam and Golden Slam.
In 1988 Graf won all four Grand Slam tournaments, becoming the third woman in tennis history to do so, after Maureen Connolly 1953 and Margaret Smith Court in 1970 completed the so-called Grand Slam. With the subsequent winning of the Olympic gold medal in Seoul in the same year, Graf achieved a historically unprecedented success, which is regarded as Golden Slam in die Geschichte des Tennissports einging.

Graf’s best annual record, the second-best ever, was 86 wins and two defeats in 1989. In 1988 and 1989 she remained unbeaten for 68 consecutive matches, surpassed here only by Martina Navratilova.
Since 22 October 2001 she has been with the tennis player Andre Agassi married and has two children with him: son Jaden Gil (born 26 October 2001) and daughter Jaz Elle (born 3 October 2003).
