Elena Baltacha announced the end of her tennis career on 21.11.13.
"My body has been through quite a lot over the past 16 years, and that is catching up with me now. I had many wonderful experiences through playing tennis – some incredible highs and some bitter lows – and I would not want to change any of it, but now my mind and body are telling me that it is time to begin a new phase of my life".
Elena Baltacha lost her battle with cancer at just 30 years of age.
